Orphans First Prayer Requests are sent by Janey DeMeo, founder of Orphans First, approximately once a week. Timing may vary though according to urgent needs that arise. The requests are sent to those who have asked to receive them.

The purpose of the requests and occasional prayer updates is to solicit specific, directed prayer to deliver children from suffering, and to enhance their awareness of Christ's compassion, love, grace and mercy.

Orphans First is a Christian child sponsorship organization, which believes in changing children's lives through Christ one by one. The first step to doing this is prayer. Prayer changes lives. Specific prayer, motivated by compassion, releases God's power on earth. Orphans First prayer requests relate to the following subjects: suffering children in the world, children sponsored by Orphans First, missions mostly relating to children, situations of extreme suffering, and Orphans First ministry-related requests.
