PICT is "Imported" and the FN
1. Gets the current date with DATE$ (theDate$ = DATE$)
2. Saves theDate$ as STR resource to be used next time file is opened.

So it is possible .. 

Now I "Hit The Book" and figure out how to accomplish Step 2
