I think it is the changes in QuickTime. Previously, I could open TIFF files
with any QT-aware graphics package including viewing through SimpleText.

Nowadays, all these programs give me Bad File Errors. The only file that can
correctly decode these particular type of TIFF files is GraphicConvertor.
