"programming the web" is a pretty generic subject. You could consider:

1. Learn JavaScript

2. Learn Java (applets)

3. Learn HTML, dHTML

4. Learn distributed/enterprise computing (client/server databases,
intranet servlets, etc.)

5. Learn CGI scripting, PERL scripts, MGI scripts, etc. (all server-side)
