Bill, Yes...I knew that and already did the DIAGNOSIS$(0) thing.

I think Jay's issue about the DIM 49 DIAGNOSIS$( ) is the culprit instead of
the gRawData(0).  However, I don't think I can read/write the full array
with the speed issue I need.

Jay,  Because of some issues addressing an individual record instead of the
entire array, the file is not written to the disk as an array.  In this
situation, it is faster, easier, to write a small record back instead of a
full array over the network.

I will try the recommendations each and every time they are made....this
list is incredible.
