Since I started using System 8.5, the popup functions menu in BBEdit 4.04
has not worked correctly (I use BBEdit for writing PIC source code, and use
the popup functions menu a lot). Bare Bones software posted a fix for this
('8.5 Menu Fix' to be put in the 'BBEdit Extensions' folder). This did fix
the popup menu problem, but caused the main menus to be redrawn in an
abbreviated manner after the popup menu was used. Bare Bones software is
on to bigger and better things, and showed little interest in fixing a
discontinued product. After reading Charlie's note, I downloaded the
Mercutio MDEF 1.5.1, and replaced the MDEF, FOND and NFNT resources as
instructed. I then also removed the '8.5 Menu Fix' from the 'BBEdit
Extensions' folder, and it all seemed to work just fine. Thanks Charlie !

I have been reading this list for several years, and want to thank all
those who spend the time to make the list as informative (and entertaining)
as it is.
