Thanks, a good point for sure. 

FWIW: If I were using text blocks like you've shown,  my inclination would be to put them in a file and load from there.
It's an ingrained habit from my mainframe developer career working with databases. Back then it was a long process to change program code and deploy it from test to a Q/A to a production environment. It took time for all the various approvals and had to be timed correctly so current production executions weren't interrupted/delayed. With the data in a separate file, a change to the data could be accomplished without impacting the code that processed it.
