Bacon Salad

INGREDIENTS

1 Oakleaf lettuce
1 Curly Endive lettuce
225 g Streaky bacon; (unsliced)
1/2 An unsliced white loaf of bread
A salad dressing of your choice
150 ml Salad oil; such as sunflower
; oil

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Wash and pick the lettuce into small bite size pieces. De-rind and
cut the bacon into little finger size pieces. Fry the bacon fast in
oil until it is a good brown colour, remove the bacon.
2 Add the rest of the salad oil; allow this to heat up until a crumb
sizzles. Take the crusts off the bread, cut in to thick slices and
cut into cubes. Cook the cubes in the oil until golden brown, drain
on kitchen paper and sprinkle with salt to draw off the oil.
3 Dress the salad well. Mix the bacon and croutons gently through.
Serve immediately.
