INGREDIENTS

225 g Puff pastry; (8oz)
1 Desert apple; cored and sliced
125 g Currants; (4 3/4oz)
1 ts Caster sugar
1/4 ts Cinnamon
1 Egg to glaze
125 g Marzipan; (4 3/4oz)
50 g Icing sugar; (2oz)
2 tb Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix the apple, currants, cinnamon and sugar together.
Roll out the pastry to a rectangle. Place the apple mix down the
centre and dot on the marzipan.
Make some slashes, either side of the mixture and fold over carefuly
to form a plait.
Brush with egg and bake in a hot oven 220°C/425°/gas mark 7 for about
15 minutes until golden brown.
Mix the icing sugar with the water and drizzle over the pastry.
Leave to set and then slice.
