"Lessons on Life"

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn
not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest,
in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the
third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to
describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was
ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full
of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that
smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful
thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and
drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right,
because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only
one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure,
joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end,
when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of
your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the
rest.

Don't  judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are
sure to come some time or later.

"Change your World"

You cannot change the world, but you can present the world with one
improved person, yourself.

You can go to work on yourself to make yourself into the kind of person
you admire and respect.

You can become a role model and set a standard for others.

You can control and discipline yourself to resist acting or speaking in
a negative way toward anyone for any reason.

You can insist upon always doing things the loving way, rather than the
hurtful way.

By doing these things each day, you can continue on your journey toward
becoming an exceptional human being.

"The Right Road"

This life that we live is like taking
a journey to places which as yet are
unknown.

We come to a crossroads and have
to make choices, go with the crowd
or travel alone?

If we go with the crowd we'll have
fun for a while for this road is
well traveled filled with ease and
pleasures.

The other road is narrow and steep,
but at the end we'll find the greatest
of treasures.

The road well traveled will be enjoyed
for a season but after awhile loses it's
charm;

For the further you travel the more
rugged it gets and is filled with pitfalls
which can cause so much harm.

Eventually this road leads to despair
and destruction and the travelor soon
finds they have lost their way.

The straight and narrow road leads
straight up to heaven where there's
rest for the weary and a glorious
new day!

Be careful my friend, which road
you choose;
For if you travel the wrong one,
you are bound to lose!

It's much easier by far you will
hear others say;
But the steep narrow road is a
far better way!

There will be times you will struggle
and want to turn back;
And there'll be some too weak
who will fall through the cracks.

At the end there's a gate which
will spring open wide;
Streets of gold you will walk on
when you step inside!

Jesus, your Savior is the first
you will see standing there;
With arms outreached to you,
saying, " Child come with me
I have so much with you I want
to share! "
