"TO THOSE CALLED TO BE SAINTS"

When most of us were growing up, we were taught to
read our Bibles daily and learn a "memory verse" to share
with our Sunday school class each week. In Sunday school,
we were taught to learn all sixty-six books of the Bible and
to be able to recite them from memory when called upon by
the Sunday school teacher.

Once we learn the Books of the Bible, we were given what
was called a "Sword drill". (The Bible is called the "Sword of
the Spirit") That is where the teacher would call out a Bible
text and the class members would race to see who would be the
first one to find it and read it aloud to the class. We are taught
the vital importance of reading the Bible through each year
from cover to cover. Those that did this were given a certificate
of completion for their effort. By the time we reached adulthood
and went to set in the main church service and listen to the
minister preach, we were well grounded in the Word and knew
from personal Bible study and Sunday school lessons if the
Word was being preached and taught correctly. Most of us that
had Sunday school teachers who were well versed in the
Scriptures, were taught so well that we were able to become
Sunday School teachers an/or go on to become preachers and
teachers of the Word. But NOT anymore!

Do you want to know why MOST Christians are so easy too deceived?

1. Most Christians HAVE NOT read their Bible through
from cover to cover ONE TIME since they got saved.

2. Most Christians DO NOT read their Bible on a daily basis.

3. Most Christians CANNOT name in order all sixty-six books of the Bible.

4. Most Christians HAVE NOT made it a personal goal
to learn Bible verses from memory. Because of this, most
Christians CANNOT quote five verses from memory and give
the text where they can be found.

5. Most Christians HAVE NOT been taught the "Roman's
Road" method or any other method of leading an unsaved person
to Christ by using the Scriptures. This is WHY most church
"growth" is attributed to the proselytizing of other saved
persons of other churches rather than seeking to bring the
unsaved in, getting them saved and then training them to
become productive disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

6. Most Christians CANNOT listen to a preacher or
teacher and tell whether the person is telling them the truth
or not "according to the Scriptures". It is because they DO NOT
know what the Word of God says, because they HAVE NOT read
it through entirely for themselves.

7. These Christians ARE NOT the ones that the Bible
calls "the elect". Because they HAVE NOT chosen to make
themselves "the elect" by "studying to show themselves approved
by God" in their knowledge of the Word, they will become the
very ones that WILL BE deceived by the "wolves in sheep's
clothing". The worse thing about "being deceived" is that
you DO NOT know that you have been deceived. They will
remain in spiritual bondage UNTIL they seek the truth of the
Word for themselves and THEN "the truth will set them free".

8. These Christians DO NOT know what God requires of all
Christians, because they DO NOT know what the Word of God
says in its entirety. Because they DO NOT know the Word,
they WILL NOT be able to "submit themselves to God, RESIST
THE DEVIL (by skillfully using the Sword of the Spirit) which
will cause him to flee from them". They have laid their Sword
down and surrendered WITHOUT even putting up a fight!

I say these things to WARN those of you that fall into
this category. Without reading the Word, studying the Word,
praying the Word and especially being "doers of the Word",
we stand a real good chance of walking away from the Lord
and back into the world. Many Christians have NEVER severed
their connection with the world, and the constant allurement
from the World is and has drawn many away from the Lord and
back into Satan's awaiting arms. Remaining in this half-hearted
condition can cost you more than you ever thought possible.
It can cost you your soul! King David said, "Thy Word have
I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee!" The
Word will keep us from sin or sin will keep us from the Word.
If that happens, we will find that we will soon backslide and
walk away from the Lord, the church and our "high calling".

I implore you! Wake up and STOP sleep walking through
life! Pull out those Bibles, blow the dust off of them and begin
to read, pray over it and ask for the Spirit of Truth to teach
you what you DO NOT know!
"Count Your Blessings"

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by
holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he
asked,"Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands
started going up. He said, "I am going to give this
$20 to one of you, but first, let me do this."

He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked,
"Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he continued, "what if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground and
started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now
who still wants this $20?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

"Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled,
and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and
the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though
we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or
what will happen, you will never lose your value: dirty or
clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless
to those who love you." The worth of our lives comes
not in what we do, who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.
Have a Blessed Day
