Deception

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are; adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just
as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will
not inherit the kingdom of God. - Galatians 5:19-21.

As Paul says it should be evident to us that these things should not be a
part of any Christian’s life. It should be but sorcery or witchcraft has
increased the deception level over the past few years. A well-known children’s
book leads the list of deceptions. What possible harm could come from such a
thing? What harm is there in a little sorcery? The people of Uganda are
beginning to understand the depth of the harm from sorcery aka witchcraft.
Trumpet World Missions John Mulinde says, “One of Uganda's main troubles is
the widespread use of magic in all its forms. The population knew that the
ceremonies involved blood and even human sacrifice, and that women and
children were regularly sexually abused, but there had been no clear proof.
We began to pray that God would take away the evil, and reveal the truth
about the occult practices.”

Underneath the deception, the people of Uganda are finding just how ugly
sorcery really is. Among the things that were revealed Mulinde says were
that “five human skulls were found in a witch doctor's house, and two more
were caught just as they were about to ritually murder a 16-year-old girl.”
Mulinde goes on to say, “there was a national outcry, and people recognized
that serious occult practices are in no way harmless hobbies, but that which
God describes them as: idolatry and satanic. “

Do not be deceived because these things are indeed not “harmless hobbies.”
Instead let us “who are Christ’s” as the apostle Paul says, “crucify (ied)
the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24).”
