I.  Concentration:  on God's blessings to mankind

            1.   God takes the initiative and chooses whom He will bless, v. 4.

            2.   God causes that chosen person to approach (come near), v. 4.

            3.   God allows that chosen person to dwell with Him ("in His courts"), v. 4.

            4.   God satisfies that chosen person's spiritual needs, v. 4.

            5.   God answers the prayers of that chosen person by performing awesome deeds, v. 5.

            6.   God's providential care strengthens that chosen person's faith and confidence, v. 5.

            7.   God receives that chosen person's acceptable praise, which is validated by that man

performing his vows (spiritual promises made to God), v. 1.

II.  Meditation:  on God's blessings to the planet Earth

            1.   God reveals Himself as the Creator of the universe, vv. 5-8.

water on the earth to produce a bountiful harvest, vv. 9-10.

            3.   God crowns ("tops off") each year with His goodness, so that all nature rejoices and

                  sings, vv. 11-13.

III.  Revelation:  on rejoicing at the outgoings of the morning and evening

            1.   All our days and years are to be seen as joyful blessing from God.

            2.   Each day, and all day, God deserves to be worshipped.

            3.   The day and night cycle every 24 hours ("outgoings" . . . closings; endings) testifies

of the marvelous plan and power of God, Who holds "the whole world in His hand."

            4.   If "the little hills rejoice" (v. 12) and the "valleys shout for joy . . . sing" (v. 13), so

should man whom God has chosen and blessed!

IV.  Applications:  as a Christian, I need to . . .

            1.   Thank God that He has chosen me.

            2.   Thank God that He satisfies all my needs by his miraculous deeds.

            3.   Thank God for his revelation of Himself as Creator and Sustainer of life on the earth.

            4.   Thank God . . . all day; every day . . . with joy, shouting, and singing.
