I say:

Without in any way wanting to comment as to whether
Buzz Feiten tuning is better or worse than other
systems, I tend to agree with Josh that the patent
itself is shaky.

In the case of the Feiten tuning we essentially have
two things different to standard tuning: a movement of
the nut, and different intonation settings. Given that
moving the nut pretty much makes different intonation
settings mandatory, and that other manufacturers have
been using different nut positioning for a _long_ time
(on and off), I just don't see why the system is
worthy of a patent, no matter how great it is in
actual effect.

(I guess I'm saying that while I respect the
innovation I don't think it is enough of a _new_
innovation to be actually patentable.)
