Hi guys and gals,
 
I have a small amount of work on at the moment, which is a God thing entirely after being out of it for so long. However, its quite an interesting problem, to which I don't know the answer!!
 
Its essentially building a Just-in-time ordering system for a car-parts manufacturer. They make things like dash mats, window socks etc. They want a system to determine the trends in orders over the last few weeks, and predict what they will require in the coming weeks. I'm thinking that there has got to be some kind of numerical method to help me out in this, but so far I've only got theory, and am a bit weak on understanding what would be applicable, useful, or just totally derranged in application!
 
If anybody has any ideas, please let me know off list...
