there to get in earlier and I'm glad we did... we ended up right at the
front of the stage.
The place was packed - and on almost every song the crowd was singing at
the top of their lungs.
The guys played great and were great fun to watch - except for Robert
Sweet, the drummer... he seemed mad or something the whole night. I
guess we're all entitled to have an off day - his playing was mostly
good although there were some tempo issues - speeding up, slowing
down... but nothing major.
I guess Peavey is one of their new endorsement deals because Oz and
Michael both had two Peavey heads on stage... the cabs were covered in
yellow and black to I don't really know what they were... I have a
feeling that there was some Marshall amps off stage or maybe they were
using preamps... cause I've never heard a peavey sound that good!
Tim Gaines played very well and was up for the whole night - he mostly
played a precision bass... very cool! I couldn't tell what kind of head
he was using but it sounded great.
The night was closed in prayer... which was cool. They did talk a lot
about their faith last night... I'd never seen Stryper before but one of
the guys that I went with has seen them tons of times (over 20) and is
going to see them again tonight. Anyway, he said that they've never been
as spiritually bold as they were last night.
OK... I'll stop yacking!
