Longsuffering, forbearing patience is to be the Christian’s reflection of the character of God. It is part of God’s character to be slow to anger and quick to be merciful. Part of the incomprehensibility of God in terms of my own relationship with Him is this: I cannot fathom how a holy God has been able to put up with me marring His creation to the degree I have for three score and five years. For me to live another day requires a continuation of God’s gracious patience with my sin… It becomes even more difficult to fathom when we see a sinless Being being more patient with sinful beings that sinful beings are with each other.

Dear friends,

This devotional message is a good reminder to us of how important we are to our God - and how important our God is to us.  Though our bodies are mortal and subject to decay, the Spirit of God is eternal, and He desires an eternal relationship with each of us, not only in body, but in Spirit - primarily in Spirit.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.

As we continue in this Christmas Holiday season, may we remember not only the birth of Christ, but our every day relationship with Christ through His Word.  Do read the Bible daily and think about it throughout your day.  It will most certainly have an impact on your life because the Bible tells us that "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17).  It also tells us that King James Bible
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13).

Do you believe these things?  Are you acting upon them?  Have a daily, personal relationship with the Lord.  Make absolutely certain that you have personally called upon the Name of the Lord - not using His Name in vein, but realizing that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
