INGREDIENTS

2 T Vegetable oil
1 Green bell pepper, chopped
1 Onion, chopped
3 Garlic cloves, minced
2 Red kidney beans, drained
16 ounces
each
1 Crushed tomatoes, 28
ounces
1 Tomato sauce, 15 ounces
2 c Crumbled cooked hamburgers
2 c Coarsely chopped cooked hot
dogs
1/4 c Chili powder
2 t Ns ground cumin
1 t Salt
1 t Black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oil in a soup pot over medium-high heat. Add the bell pepper,
onion, and garlic and saute for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the pepper
and onion are tender. Add the remaining ingredients; mix well. Reduce
the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minues, stirring
occasionally.  NOTE: Serve over rice or with some of your favorite
chili toppers like  shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, sliced
scallions, or  jalapeno peppers. And go ahead - add more or less of the
burgers and  dogs (whatever you've got on hand!) and make it hotter or
milder by  adjusting the chili powder. The choices are yours!
