INGREDIENTS

2 tb Vegetable oil
1 lg Green bell pepper; chopped
1 lg Onion; chopped
3 Garlic cloves; minced
2 cn Red kidney beans; drained (16 ounces
; each)
1 cn Crushed tomatoes; (28 ounces)
1 cn Tomato sauce; (15 ounces)
2 c Crumbled cooked hamburgers
2 c Coarsely chopped cooked hot dogs
1/4 c Chili powder
2 ts Ns ground cumin
1 ts Salt
1 ts Black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oil in a soup pot over medium-high heat. Add the bell pepper,
onion, and garlic and saute for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the pepper and
onion are tender. Add the remaining ingredients; mix well. Reduce the heat
to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minues, stirring occasionally.
NOTE: Serve over rice or with some of your favorite chili toppers like
shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, sliced scallions, or jalapeno
peppers. And go ahead - add more or less of the burgers and dogs (whatever
you've got on hand!) and make it hotter or milder by adjusting the chili
powder. The choices are yours!
