INGREDIENTS

4 c Flour
4 ts Baking powder
1/3 c Bacon fat
2 tb Salt
1/2 c Water; (up to 1)

INSTRUCTIONS

I had a friend who came from old Mexico and she tought me how to make
these. It took me a few tries to make them come out right.
Mix flour, baking powder, bacon fat, and salt. When well mixed make hole in
mixture and pour in small amount of water, work till small amount of dough
is easy to handle, will be just a little sticky. Make walnut size balls and
set aside. Continue till all mixture is formed into balls. Roll real thin
and fry like a pancake, first one side and then the other.
I used Wondra flour when I make these cause they roll out thinner.
If you have any questions just send me an e-mail, she made these by puting
the ingredients in her hand and the day she showed me she measured in her
hand and we put it in a measuring cup and then I wrote the directions as we
went.
