French Onion Soup

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Butter or margarine
4 lg Onions; sliced
4 c Beef broth*
1 ts Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c Grated Parmesan cheese toasted croutons

INSTRUCTIONS

Place butter in a 3 quart casserole. Microwave at high (100%) until melted,
45 seconds to 1 minute. Stir in onions Microwave at high (100%) until
onions are opaque, 8 to 10 minutes, stirring twice during cooking time. Add
broth and Worcestershire sauce. Microwave at high (100%) until boiling, 8
to 10 minutes, stirring once during cooking time. Add salt and pepper to
taste. Sprinkle cheese on top. Microwave at high (100%) until cheese melts,
1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Serve with croutons. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
*NOTE: 4 cups water and 6 teaspoons beef bouillon base, or cubes, may be
used instead of broth (use less salt)
