INGREDIENTS

1 md Onion; minced
2 Cloves garlic; minced
1/2 Stick margarine -or-
1/4 c Oil
2 1/2 c White rice; cooked
2 1/2 c Black beans; cooked
Salsa lizano or other seasoning; to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat oil in a heavy frying pan, cook onion and garlic until soft.  Add
beans and fry for 10 minutes.  Add more margarine or oil, if needed.  Add
rice, stil well and cook for five more minutes.  Season with the hot sauce
and serve.
This is a staple of Costa Rican kitchens, usually served at breakfast with
tortillas, hard cheese and scrambled eggs.  May also be served as a side
dish with any other meal.
