Grandma’s Chocolate Puddin’

INGREDIENTS

3/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tb Cornstarch
OR
1/4 c All purpose flour
2 2/3 c Milk
2 Eggs; beaten
1 tb Margarine or butter
1 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

In a heavy medium saucepan combine sugar, cocoa, and cornstarch or flour.
Stir in milk. Cook and stir over med. heat until mixture is thickened and
bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. Gradually stir
about 1 cup of the hot mixture into the beaten eggs. Return all of the egg
mixture to the saucepan. Cook till nearly bubbly but DO NOT BOIL. Reduce
heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. Stir in margarine
and vanilla. Pour pudding into a bowl. Cover the surface with clear plastic
wrap to prevent a skim forming on top. Allow to cool.
Around my house it usually gets to cool for about 5 minutes. Then it dies a
quick and painless death! ;-P
