Hearty Hamburger Tomato Stew

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Ground beef; lean turkey (2 1/2 cups, browned)
1 1/4 c Chopped onion
2 c Carrots; peeled and sliced
1 c Green bell pepper; chopped
1 c Fresh mushrooms; sliced
1 cn (16 oz) green beans; cut, drained
1 cn (16 oz) corn; drained
3 Stalks celery; sliced
1 cn (46 oz) tomato juice
2 ts Sugar
1 ts Celery seed
Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Brown ground beef or turkey in a large saucepan. Mix in remaining
ingredients; bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer covered 30 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Cool and freeze.
To prepare for serving, thaw stew. Then bring to a boil; reduce heat;
simmer
10    minutes. Makes 8 servings.
Summary of processes: Chop 11/4 cups onion and 1 cup green bell pepper;
peel and slice 2 cups carrots, 1 cup fresh mushrooms, 3 stalks celery
Freeze in: 16-cup container

NOTES : Serve with: Cornbread or wheat crackers
