Holiday Almond Tea Bread

INGREDIENTS

3/4 c Dried apricots, chopped
1/4 c Butter or margarine
3/4 c Sugar
1 c Boiling water
1 Egg, beaten
1 c Flour
1 c Wholewheat flour
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Almonds, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line it with
nonstick or wax paper.  Combine the apricots, butter or margarine, sugar
and boiling water.  Stir until melted.  Allow to cool. Mix in t he egg,
flours and baking soda.  Add the almonds and spoon the mixture into the
prepared pan.  Level the top and bake for about 1 hour, or until a skewer
inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
