CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
14 Servings

INGREDIENTS

4 c Marshmallows, miniature
1 1/2 tb Margarine or butter
4 c Granola, nonfat (Either use above recipe or purchased nonfat granola)
2 c Rice Krispies cereal

INSTRUCTIONS

For Microwave: Put marshmallows in a glass mixing bowl. Microwave on high
for 45 seconds. Stir and add butter or margarine. Microwave 45 seconds
longer and stir. If margarine or marshmallows are not completely melted,
microwave 30-45 seconds more. Stir in granola and Rice krispies. Spray
13"x9"x2" pan with nonstick spray. Using a large piece of was paper, press
granola mixture evenly into pan. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, cut into
14 bars, about 4 1/2 inches long. (You can cut and put in plastic bags for
quick individual servings available for lunches or anytime.)
VARIATIONS (May rise recipe above 30% CFF):
1. For peanut butter granola bars, add 2 TB peanut butter to marshmallows
instead of the margarine.
2. If you want it to be more like the commercial granola bars, add 2 TB
miniature chocolate chips. If doing this, add cereals and chocolate chips
after allowing the marshmallow mixture to cool a few minutes.
3. You can always add more dried fruits with the cereals.
