CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Beverage 2 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 qt Water
1/4 c Tea; loose
3/4 c Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring 1 quart of the water to a boil, add tea and remove from heat. Let
steep for 4 minutes. Steeping time can vary depending on how strong you
like you tea but I have found anything over 5 minutes and it starts to get
bitter. Strain thru a strainer.
DO NOT PRESS THE TEA TO EXTRACT - pressing will make it bItter also. I
just dump the tea and water thru the strainer, shake it a time or two and
throw the tea out.
Add the sugar, more of less can be used depending on how sweet you like you
tea, and stir till the sugar is dissolved. Add the remaining quart of
water and leave on the counter to cool. DO NOT place directly in the
refirgerator as that will make it cloud
I have found that this make the best Iced Tea around and you don't have to
try and dissolve sugar in cold water, which never seems to work for me.
My two favorite flavored teas right now are mango tea and one I found
called Arctic Fire. The Arctic Fire I found in a cooking store in the
Pocono's and took it to my local tea shope in Harrisburg. She found it thru
a small distributor and now can't kee
If you find any other teas that make good iced tea please let me know.
