INGREDIENTS

1 c Milk
1 Egg
2 T Butter
1 t Vanilla
1/4 c Sugar
1 t Salt
1/2 t Cinnamon
1/2 t Dried lemon peel, or freshly
grated to taste
1/2 t Ground cardamon
3 c All-purpose flour
2 t Rapid or Quick yeast
1 c Dried fruits, raisins
1 c Chopped almonds, up to 1/2
EGG beaten with:
tb Milk OR cream

INSTRUCTIONS

HOLIDAY BREADS - Donna German VI  Add dried fruits/nuts to the abm pan
5 min. after kneading starts.  Remove dough from abm. Divide into 3
equal pieces. Roll each piece  into a long rope and braid ropes
together. Place braid on lightly  greased baking pan. Cover, let rise
about 1-1/2 hours. Brush dough  with EGG WASH Bake in preheated 350°
