INGREDIENTS

2 Medium-sized slices of
crustless stale soaked
briefly in
bread water
500 g Lean minced lamb or beef
1lb
1 Medium-sized onion, finely
chopped
2 T Freshly chopped mint or 1
teaspoon dried
mint
1 T Freshly chopped parsley
1 Clove garlic, crushed
1 Egg
Salt and freshly ground
black pepper
Plain flour, for dusting
Vegetable oil, for shallow
or deep
frying

INSTRUCTIONS

Squeeze out excess water from the bread, leaving it quite dry.  Combine
all the ingredients for the kofte and mix well.  Make walnut-shaped
balls and keep them covered until they are to be  cooked. Then roll
them lightly in flour and fry in hot oil for 2-3  minutes until golden
