Make-Ahead Brunch Bake

INGREDIENTS

1 pk (5 1/4-ounce) garlic-flavored croutons
3 c (12 ounces) sharp cheddar cheese; shredded
12 lg Eggs
1 qt Milk
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1 pk (12-ounce) bacon; cooked and crumbled
1/2 c Finely chopped green bell pepper; (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Place croutons in a single layer in a greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish;
sprinkle with cheese.
Combine eggs and next 3 ingredients; pour over Cheddar cheese. Chill 8
hours. Remove from refrigerator, and let stand 30 minutes.
Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Sprinkle with bacon and, if desired, bell
pepper; bake 10 more minutes or until center is set. Let stand 10 minutes.
Notes: This easy recipe is great for large gatherings. Add a festive touch
by substituting 1/4 cup each of chopped red and yellow bell pepper for
green bell pepper.
Makes 10 servings.
