Nana’s Irish Soda Bread

INGREDIENTS

3 c Flour
1/3 c Sugar
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 c Raisins
1/3 c Butter
1 ts Caraway seeds; optional
1 c Buttermilk

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl. With two
knives cut better into flour until is is medium coarse. Add raisins,
caraway seeds and about 1 cup of buttermilk. Mix to blend, but don't beat.
Bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove from pan and
cool on rack. Best served warm.
