INGREDIENTS

2 c Whole grains*
1 c Soy grits
1 tb Sea salt
2 qt Boiling water
1 c Wheat bran
3/4 c Nonfat dry milk
1/2 c Wheat germ
1/2 c Brewer's yeast
2 tb Alfalfa powder
1 tb Kelp powder
1 tb Bone meal
1/2 c Vegetable oil
1 ts Cod liver oil
1 400iu capsule vitamin E

INSTRUCTIONS

* Oatmeal, millet or cracked wheat, barley or corn, or a mixture of these.
The ingredients for these treats can be found at natural foods stores.
Vitamin E comes in capsules; pierce with tip of a sharp knife and squeeze
it out into mixing bowl.
DIRECTIONS: Slowly stir grains, soy grits and salt into the continuously
boiling water. Cover and simmer fifteen minutes or until water is absorbed;
add more water if too dry. Cool slightly.
Add bran, dry milk, wheat germ, yeast, alfalfa powder, kelp powder, bone
meal, vegetable oil, cod liver oil and vitamin E, stirring rapidly and
thoroughly. Spread thinly on a cookie sheet.
Score the dough into small squares or little ribbons before baking. Dry in
the oven at 150-200F degrees until crisp.
If your favorite dog wants to try these too, bake first, then break into
larger bite-size pieces.
