INGREDIENTS

1 c Sour milk; buttermilk, OR
Milk & 1 T Lemon Juice
1/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Butter; softened
1 c Sugar
4 Eggs; divided
4 c Flour
1 ts Salt
4 ts Baking powder
1 c Raisins

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Preheat oven to 500 deg. Grease and flour 1 full size cookie sheet or 2
13x9 pans.
2) Place baking soda in milk. Set aside.
3) Sift flour, salt & baking powder. Set aside.
4) Separate 2 eggs, save yolks.
5) Mix softened butter, sugar, 2 eggs and 2 egg whites in a bowl.
6) Add milk/baking soda and raisins to butter/sugar/egg mix.
7) Hand mix flour mix into wet ingredients.
8) Spread dough onto cookie sheet or pans 1/2" thick.
9) Beat 2 remaining egg yolks. Hand spread yolks over top of dough.
10) Sprinkle granulated sugar or cinnamon sugar over the dough & yolk.
11) Bake for 8 or 9 minutes, until golden brown.
