Pam’s Cheese Stuffed Peppers

INGREDIENTS

4 sm Green peppers, washed
1/4 lb Sharp Cheddar cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes
1/4 lb Swiss cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes
1/4 lb Gruyere cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes
1 sm Tomato, in 4 slices
1 tb Packaged dry bread crumbs
1 ts Melted butter
1/2 ts Dried basil leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
2. in boiling water ( 2 inches deep in a 3 quart saucepan, pasboil peppers
until tender - 10 minutes.
3. Drain peppers; cut off tops; remove seeds. Place standing upright, on
lightly greased baking dish.
4. Stuff peppers with the three kinds of cheese cubes, dividing evenly. Top
each pepper with a tomato slice, then sprinkle with bread crumbs tossed
with melted butter and basil. Bake 20 minutes or until hot and cheese is
melted.
