Don't Wait For the Hearse to Take You to Church

INGREDIENTS

2 1/4 c Sugar
1 c Milk
2/3 c White Karo Syrup
1/2 ts Vanilla
3 c Raw peanuts
6 dr Red food coloring
1 tb Butter

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine sugar, milk, Karo and peanuts together; bring to a boil. Cook on
low heat for 1 hour and 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from
heat; add butter, vanilla and food coloring. Beat until thick and holds
shape.  Drop from spoon onto greased waxed paper.
YIELD: 50 patties
