Rhineland Sweet-sour Red Cabbage

INGREDIENTS

4 Bacon, diced
1/4 c Brown sugar
2 T Flour
1 t Salt
1/8 t Pepper
1/2 c Water
1/4 c Vinegar
1 Head red cabbage
Shredded
1 Onion, finely chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

Cook bacon in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit.  Set
bacon aside.  Combine 1 tbs. of bacon drippings in slow-cooking pot
with sugar, flour, salt, and pepper.  Stir in water and vinegar; add
cabbage and onion. Cover and cook on low 3 to 4 hours.  Spoon into
serving bowl; sprinkle cooked bacon on top.  Recipe By     :  From:
