Rhineland Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage

INGREDIENTS

4 sl Bacon — diced
1/4 c Brown sugar
2 tb Flour
1 ts Salt
1/8 ts Pepper
1/2 c Water
1/4 c Vinegar
1 md Head red cabbage —
Shredded
1 sm Onion — finely chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

Cook bacon in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit.  Set bacon
aside.  Combine 1 tbs. of bacon drippings in slow-cooking pot with sugar,
flour, salt, and pepper.  Stir in water and vinegar; add cabbage and onion.
Cover and cook on low 3 to 4 hours.  Spoon into serving bowl; sprinkle
cooked bacon on top.
