Three Days in Paradise

Jesus cares for you very deeply. His birth was his way of getting here with us to prove how much he is willing to do to restore a relationship with you that he misses. You may not know what that friendship is like, but Jesus does, and you are so incredibly valuable to Him.

When Jesus was being killed 33 years after his birth, he had an interesting conversation with the man dying beside him. The man said ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ And [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”‘

So Jesus was headed to Paradise when he died. And he was there for 3 days before God raised Jesus from the dead. What did Jesus do in Paradise for three days? 1 Peter 4:6 says “For this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead”. The dead, who had never heard of the opportunity to know friendship with God were told about this by God’s own son, and even they were given one chance to decide for, or against eternal life with God.

Jesus spent 33 years telling everyone he met about the new life and victory he gives us over the things that keep us from being his friend. Even for 3 days after dying, he continued to tell those in Paradise so they too could be saved from eternity without Him.
