Enclosed is AutoBin. Autobin is a program based on dropshell that
will binhex any file dropped on top of it. Since I didn't write very
much of the actual code, included the source so other can benefit too.

* This is an AppleScript script that will make a stuffed backup file by
StuffIt LIte 3.5 or later and automatically replace its content with
modified files.
* If you make a backup file into a floppy disk, the disk will be soon
full with files. But if backup files are stuffed, you can save backup
files almost twice as many.
* Once you choose which folder to backup into which disk, and let this
make a stuffed backup file in the disk, only by double-clicking,this
will choose files which in the original folder are modified after the
modification date of the backup file ,and replace these files in the
backup file.
* THIS VERSION COPES WITH THE CHANGE OF APPLESCRIPT WITH MACOS8.
USER OF MACOS7.6.1 OR BEFORE HAD BETTER USE 2.1.2.VERSION WHICH IS
FASTER.
* Ver2.2.3 removed another bug of causing error when folder contains
only one file.
* System requirement: MacOS8.0 or later,AppleScript1.1.2
* You need a registered version of StuffIt Lite 3.5 or later.

Subject: Compact Pro 1.51
Compact Pro is a shareware file compression and archival utility.
It compresses and stores files in "archives" which may span multiple
diskettes. Compact Pro supports data encryption (US and Canadian
users only) and self-extracting archives. Version 1.51 is a "fat"
binary, so it will run in native mode on Power Macs as well as on
standard Macs.
Compact Pro may be used on a free trial basis for 30 days. If you
find it useful and continue to use it beyond the free trial period,
you are required to pay a $25 registration fee. Self-extracting
archives created by Compact Pro may be used for commercial
distribution of software/data with no additional license fee.
This file is a self-extracting archive created with Compact Pro.
Double-clicking on it will create a folder with the Compact Pro
application and documentation files.

[This is a replacement for a year-old file in the archives
which was damaged.]
CptExpand 1.00 is a freeware utility to decompress Compact Pro
archives. It is written by Bill Goodman, the author of Compact
Pro. The advantage of this program over Extractor, the other
free Compact Pro decompression utility, is that it is small
enough to run in 512K of memory. However, if you don't have the
Hierarchical File System (HFS), you will need to install the
HD20 INIT in your System folder. This can usually be obtained
from Macintosh user groups or from on-line services such as
Compuserve.
CptExpand has the same creator type as Compact Pro, which allows
it to automatically open when such an archive is double-clicked
(but it should then only be used if you *don't* use Compact Pro
or Extractor).

Subject: Easy Installer 1.0
This upload is to save you the time of creating the installer
yourself and also to give you the idea. This self-installing
archive installs control panels, extensions, preferences, etc. into
the system folder, and can install stuff into root as well. It's not
as refined or as idiot-proof as a Stuffit Installer Maker installer
but it does work, is easier to create, and I believe Compact Pro is
also cheaper.
What it's good for:
*Creating a product installer
*ORGANIZING YOUR COLLECTION OF INITS AND CDEVS.
The sysem folder is not a good place to keep anything you plan on
keeping beyond the next system melt down. Put your inits/cdevs into
this installer once and for all. Double click and they're installed.
If you do use Compact Pro, please pay the [inexpensive] Compact Pro
shareware fee. Note: I have nothing to do with Compact Pro - I'm
just a satisfied user.
May be included on the CD-ROM. It's freeware, but it
requires the Compact Pro shareware program.

The RAR implementation (i.e. MacRAR) is a freeware, however it uses RAR

reinstall it, but not the whole operating system). Pacifist is also
able to verify existing installations and find missing or altered
files*, and also has the ability to optimize your system's performance
by updating prebinding information on your hard disk.
*This product includes software developed by the University of
California, Berkeley and its contributors.
Changes in this version:
- Compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and its packages
- Fixed some minor interface flaws
- Small performance increases
- Made the verify feature check the file size if the package does not
specify a checksum
- Fixed some bugs in extracting identical files from a package
- Loading a package is now done in a separate thread
- It is now possible to cancel loading of a package
- Fixed a spurious disk-full error
- Pacifist now notifies the Finder when it installs a file so that it
will update immediately
- Pacifist is now much smarter about dealing with situations when it is
asked to extract files from a package on a disk that is no longer
inserted

Subject: pkzip-203
PKZIP Mac is an advanced data compression program for Macintosh
systems running System 7 or higher. PKZIP Mac is compatible
across many computer platforms, allowing you to transfer zipped files
from one computer to another.
While powerful, PKZIP Mac is easy to use. You can customize PKZIP Mac's
settings with a variety of options. For example: use a faster
compression method for speedier operations, use a higher compression
ratio to save the most disk space, or use passwords to prevent
unauthorized access to your most sensitive files.
PKZIP Mac is a program for compressing data files. Compressed files take
up less disk space. Compressed files are stored in a single Zip Archive.
You could think of a Zip Archive file as an envelope for files. When a
file is compressed, a copy of the file is placed into the Zip Archive.
Putting files in a Zip Archive makes your file lists less confusing.
Many files can be included in one Zip Archive.

SitExpand 1.01 is a freeware utility to decompress StuffIt 1.5.1 archives

This program is small enough to run in 512K of memory, but if you don't have

Subject: StuffIt--UnStuff/PC.EXE submission
Hi,
I just got my registered copy of StuffIt Lite 3.0.5. Inside the disk there are
a few goodies besides StuffIt Lite and StuffIt Expander like StuffIt &
Frontier, CPT2SIT(3.0.3), UnStuff/PC. The last two pieces are not in the
Info-Mac archive as I checked on Mar. 15 '93. So here is the submission for
the second one, UnStuff/PC in binhexed, (StuffIt) self-extracted format.
The following is from "ReadMe on Macintosh".
> "UNSITINS.EXE" is a DOS executable self-extracting archive that contains
> UNSTUFF.EXE. You will need to move "UNSITINS.EXE" to a DOS machine. Now you

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Attached is a beta (alpha really) version of my program UUCOPY. It is
hopefully a fat binary - that is - it should run natively on both Power
Macs and classical Macs. I HAVE ONLY TESTED THIS SOFTWARE ON A POWER MAC!
Yes, I recognize that this program will rarely benefit by the Power Mac's
muscle, but I feel like it's a good thing to get into the habit of
producing PM native code.
UUCOPY is intended to allow the user to select files for transfer via the
Mac version of UUPC.
The first time UUCOPY is run the user is prompted to locate the UUPC
settings file. This file path is stored in a Preferences file in the
System folder.
The user can choose any or all of the systems defined in the UUPC ROUTEVIA
field as destinations through a dialog box. The selected destinations are
saved in the Preferences file on exit for convenience.
NOTE WELL that UUCOPY only copies data forks -- it is currently your
responsibility to make sure that the information that you want to transfer
is all in the data fork. For normal Mac files you may want to use BinHex
or MacBinary formats.
If there is sufficient interest, I'll integrate MacBinary conversion into
UUCOPY.
UUCOPY requires System 7.

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
This is the first official release of uuUndo, a fast, free batch uudecoding
utility for the Macintosh. Although uuUndo was originally designed to work
with John Norstad's NewsWatcher, it does quite nicely in its own right as a
standalone drag and drop smart uudecoder.
uuUndo is shipped as a fat binary, running incredibly quickly on PowerPC
machines, and makes full use of asynchronous I/O to ensure smooth operation
in the background. Because it is based on Leonard Rosenthal's DropShell
code, uuUndo is also fully scriptable and recordable. uuUndo requires
System 7.

Subject: ZipIt 1.4
ZipIt 1.4 is a full-featured Macintosh utility to zip and unzip files. ZipIt
allows you to compress files and send them to friends and coworkers working
on PCs, Unix machines, or any other platform where the zip compression
format is standard, and to unzip any zip file as well. ZipIt is fully
compatible with all versions of PKZip, WinZip, and Info-Zip.
In addition, ZipIt allows you to compress Macintosh files without losing
essential Macintosh data. In version 1.4, ZipIt is smarter about which files
are Macintosh files, and which are not, allowing you to easily transmit zip
files to Mac and PC colleagues with no extra hassle.
ZipIt version 1.4 also adds the ability to create self-extracting zip
archives that will operate either on a Mac or a PC running Windows. Now you
don't have to worry about whether or not the person you're sending your zip
file to has an unzipping program. If you specify that the archive should be
self-extracting, then the recipient merely double-clicks on the archive, and
it will unzip itself.
ZipIt is fully AppleScriptable, meaning that you can automate its operation
and perform complex and repetitive archival tasks. Version 1.4 significantly
enhances ZipIt's AppleScript capabilities.
ZipIt is $15 shareware. The ZipIt web site may be found at
http://www.maczipit.com. ZipIt may be included on CD-ROM shareware
collections, provided that the CD-ROM is not sold for profit, beyond a
distribution or compilation charge. ZipIt may also be included on CD-ROMs
that accompany a technical book or publication.

I have just finished beta 5 of MacZip.
This is the new port of the fine Info-Zip's Zip and Unzip.
The GUI is very simple. It was not my intension to make a fullblown GUI,
however I think it's comfortable enough to use it as regular tool.
This port supports also Apple-event.So you can install it in your
WWW-Browser as a helper-app.
Binaries/Sources can be also found at:

MacZip100b5C.hqx -> crypt version
MacZip100b5NC.hqx -> non crypt version
I think I'm very close to a final release of MacZip 1.00.
If you have any problems/questions don't hesitate
and send a email to me.
Most important / features are:
The complete set of macintosh finder-info is stored:
FXinfo, Mac-Pathname, file-dates and Finder-Comments
are now stored in the extra-field. Extra-field layout is
changed accordingly. Unzip uses now the filename stored in the
extra-field when unzipping.
Crypt-code added. It's now possible to encrypt/decrypt archives.
It's now possible to stop the run of Zip/Unzip with the well
known shortcut [Command] + [.]
System requirements:
* System 7
* any Macintosh
