These 750 additional recipes are meant to be imported into CookWare. They were

Subject: Accounter
Accounter is a straightforward cash book accounts system - a development
within Excel98. (You need Macintosh Excel98 and a basic familiarity with
that program).
With Accounter you know where you are and where everything is because all
entries are out in the open on a spreadsheet.
Accounter lets you break down one or more accounts into as many categories
as you wish. But you don't have to have a column for each category with
the columns extending "out west" seemingly forever - no scrolling every
time you make an entry.
Accounter makes whole or part summaries of your accounts with a choice of
how much detail you want.
Accounter handles splitting up of debits and credits into sub entries and
also lets you set up for one or more taxes such as Sales, Value Added or
Goods and Services taxes.
Accounter is simple to use but sophisticated. Shareware.

Subject: AccountsAuditor 1.0b2 (68K)
Here is an updated version of AccountsAuditor. I thought it might be
especially useful to those taking advantange the free upgrade to Quicken 98
now available. When my largest Quicken data file didn't convert correctly,
AccountsAuditor was a significant aid. It helped me correct the faulty
file and reassured me that my other data files were correctly converted.
I wrote AccountsAuditor as a general utility for maintaining the integrity
of Quicken data files. I developed the program to meet my own needs, and
I'm offering it without charge to others who may find it useful. I am not
associated with Intuit, Inc., publishers of Quicken. This program has not
been reviewed or approved by Intuit, Inc.
The program works by comparing the current, working file with a saved file
to make sure that there haven't been any spontaneous changes to the data.
I have experienced such spontaneous changes, perhaps as a result of system
crashes that left a file too corrupt for Quicken to repair when it rebuilds
the indexes. I've used several versions of Quicken, and it's possible
that, other than the version upgrade difficulty I recently experienced,
only older versions are subject to the problems this program is designed to
detect. Personally, having had corrupted data in the past, I don't like to
make any assumptions.
This beta version of AccountsAuditor was developed under System 7.5.5 and
has been tested mostly under that version of the Mac OS. It has been run
but not thoroughly tested under System 8.5.1. As far as I know, it should
run under System 7.0 or later; I don't know whether it can run under System
6. I did size the screens so that they will work on the classic Mac. The
68K version of the program requires at least 6000K of free memory; I've
found 8000K is necessary for my largest file. The PPC version has been
only minimally tested. If it causes trouble, try increasing its memory, or
use the 68K version.
According to Intuit's web site, Quicken 98 is designed to handle data from
1928 to 2027. Accordingly, this program interprets two-digit years as
representing dates in that range.
Changes from the previous version:
Better handling of low-memory situations
Recognizes commissions in investment accounts
If a transaction has split fields, only the splits show category/class
Dates interpreted as 1928 to 2027, instead of 1950 to 2049

Here is Version 1.1 of AccountsAuditor.
I wrote AccountsAuditor as a general utility for maintaining the
integrity of Quicken data files. It should also work with other money
management programs that can export data in QIF format. I developed
the program to meet my own needs, and I'm offering it without charge
to others who may find it useful. I am not associated with Intuit,
Inc., publishers of Quicken. This program has not been reviewed or
approved by Intuit, Inc.
The program works by comparing the current, working file with a saved
file to make sure that there haven't been any spontaneous changes to
the data. I have experienced a number of spontaneous changes in my
files, including some with Quicken 98 (the most recent version I've
used). I've also experienced changes once when performing a version
upgrade.
AccountsAuditor was developed under System 7.5.5. Recent revisions
and my current use of the program are under System 8.6. As far as I
know, the program should run under System 7.0 through 9.x. The
program requires at least 8000K of free memory; a large file can
require two or three times that amount.
Version 1.1 introduces two changes:
Dates are now interpreted in accordance with date format settings in
the Date & Time Control Panel, instead of assuming the date format
conventional in the US. A consequence of this change is that dates
with four-digit years are forced into the same range (1928 - 2027) as
dates with two-digit years.
To accommodate newer versions of Quicken (including future versions),
as well as other money management programs, lines in the export file
may now be of unlimited length. They previously were limited to the
the maximum length exported by Quicken 98.

Subject: Troi Activator Plug-in 1.3 for FileMaker Pro
Troi Activator Plug-in is a very powerful tool for triggering scripts
across the network, even over the Internet. All from within FileMaker
you can:
* trigger a FileMaker script on a different client computer
* trigger a FileMaker script over the Internet
* use the built-in security to prevent unauthorized triggering
* send a number (e.g. a record ID) and a long text with the trigger
* start and stop listening for remote trigger messages with one script step
Apart from remote triggering you can also trigger scripts on the same computer:
* trigger a script on a specified date and time
* schedule events which trigger any script you want
* trigger a script after exiting a field
* validate fields with a custom script suited to your specific
validation needs
* put the computer to sleep till it needs to be activated again (Mac only).
New Features
Troi Activator Plug-in 1.3 (release date July 17th, 2001) adds these
new functions and features:
* Tested with FileMaker 5.5 and made compatible for Mac OS X. The
Mac OS version of the plug-in is now a so called 'Super Fat' plug-in
that will run native on Mac OS 8, 9 and on Mac OS X.
* You can now schedule an event without parameters.
* Added support for runtimes (including kiosk mode) created with
FileMaker Developer 5 for Windows and FileMaker Developer Edition 4.0
for Windows.
* Added support for FileMaker Pro 4.0 for Windows and FileMaker Pro
4.1 for Windows.
Suggested Uses
The Activator allows you to:
* create a real-time appointment solution, where you can notify a
colleague (on a different computer) of changes in his/her appointments
* notify a user that a shared document can be used
* start processing scientific data on a lab computer (see our Serial
Plug-in for connecting FileMaker to serial devices:
)
* get someone out of a record, so that it is no longer locked
* schedule processing of incoming email and put the computer to
sleep the rest of the time, saving energy

This is a pretty standard address book
program. There are a few features though that
most other address books don't have.
Birthdays
You can enter in a birthday for any given
entry, and if you also hilite the "BDay Alert"
option, each time you return to that page of your
address book, you'll be able to see exactly how
old the person is.
You can also click the "Show BDs" button
and the software will show you a list of all of
the people that will have birthdays in the
current month.
You can also export a birthday list from
the software that my other piece of shareware
(Things to Do) can import. Importing the list
will make it so that Things to Do will remind you
of all of the birthdays in your database.
Copy Mailing Address
You can visit any page and click the
"Copy Me" button to have that page's name and
mailing address copied to the clipboard. You can
then paste the software into your word processor
or anywhere.
It should work on any mac system from
system 9 and up, although in OS X, it might not
be visually attractive. It may also work on
older systems, but I do not have the hardware to
be able to verify this.

Add-Strip 3.4 - TEXT documents created on a PC or a mainframe are
invariably formatted inappropriately for use on a Macintosh. They
often contain
unnecessary control characters, carriage returns, the wrong kind of
quotation and apostrophe marks, and so forth. Manually reformatting
these documents can be a tedious and time-consuming task. Add/Strip
(A/S) has been designed to automatically perform much of the work of
cleaning up TEXT files destined for import to page layout, word
processing, database, or spreadsheet programs, as well as export from
these programs to a PC or mainframe computer. All in a fraction of
the time needed to manually reformat using a word processor. It can
also batch-search-and-replace a folder of textfiles with up to 250
replacements, begin-of-file & end-of-file inclusions.

Subject: [*] AppleWorks to MS Works Translator
Someone asked me to upload the free translator for AFE that
Microsoft produced. This translator will supposedly convert
AppleWorks documents to MS Works docs. I don't know if it
will handle the databse or spreadsheet portions or not. I
have been informed that this particular translator will only
handle documents of up to 20k in size (I have not verified
that myself). It would have been posted sooner, but I had
to check with Microsoft to make sure it was OK to post it.
They said enjoy!

File Name: alias-menu-312.hqx (1376 k)
Date: May 20, 2004
From: [email protected]
Subject: AliasMenu for Mac OS X 3.1.2
This download contains the English, French, and Japanese localizations
in a single application package.
AliasMenu adds customized menus to the menu bar. Each menu extra has a
corresponding folder and the menu automatically reflects the folder's
content.
Create your own menus for Preferences, favorite Folders, often used
Applications, an Internet menu including applications and web bookmarks,
a Documents menu, a Utilities menu... Possibilities are endless. Any
folder you create for AliasMenu instantly becomes an extra menu.
The menu name can be replaced by an icon, to make it nicer or to save
room in the menu bar and add more menus. Simply paste a custom icon on
the folder.
Version 3 has been entirely rewritten for Mac OS X and is fully Panther compatible.
* Create Any Number of Menus: User-defined menus are actual menu
extras, like the clock or volume menu. If you have a large screen, you
can easily add as many as 15 or 20 menus. Submenus are supported.
* Open Every Kind of Items: As did the old Apple menu, AliasMenu opens
any object placed in one of its menus: applications, documents, folders,
servers, scripts, and even URLs.
* Powerful Keyboard Shortcuts: AliasMenu uses the 'ctrl' key by default
instead of 'command' for the keyboard shortcuts, to avoid "collisions"
with the applications' shortcuts. Assign shortcuts to anything,
including folders and Internet bookmarks!
[3.1.2] This is a bug-fix update. In some situations, a custom icon used as
a menu title could freeze the menu auto-updating.
What's new in version 3.1?
* Alias icons are now displayed from the original files. The little
alias arrow is gone from the menus (Yay!).
* Masking of numeric prefix is now optional. A new check box in
preferences lets you choose to hide numerix prefixes in file names.
* Automatic link with AliasKeys. Any file appearing both in AliasMenu
and AliasKeys will be displayed in the menu with the keyboard shortcut
defined in AliasKeys. Both products are designed to work separately,
nonetheless AliasKeys brings much more complete choice and ease to
define shortcuts.

Subject: Asset Basset 2.51
Asset Basset tracks investments, specializing in asset allocation. It will
perform the following useful functions:
1) It tracks allocation in various asset classes (foreign/domestic,
equity/bond, small-cap/large-cap, etc.). A unique feature is the ability to
allocate percentage amounts within a single investment; for example, a
mutual fund 60 46n stock and 40 46n bonds can be accurately represented in
Asset Basset By enabling percentage allocations within an investment, Asset
Basset lets you monitor the allocation and performance of your investments
with a precision limited only by your knowledge of your own investments.
2) It lets you define portfolios using allocation criteria, e.g., "foreign"
or "foreign fixed-income" and monitor the performance of the portfolio.
3) It calculates the cost-basis of each investment, using either the
average-cost or first-in-first-out methods, and generates tax-reports of
capital gains and distributions for any year.
4) It calculates total profit using the time-value of money, with methods
such as the internal rate of return, and the discounting/compounding of cash
flows.
5) It keeps track of total worth, out-of-pocket cost, and so on.
"Asset Basset 2.51 app" is a standalone application (previous versions were
Hypercard stacks). Asset Basset will be very slow on a 68K Mac without a
math co-processor. It requires a minimum of 1.1 MB of RAM.

Subject: Assimilator 2.0.1
Assimilator is designed for Macintosh lab situations where you want to make
all the harddisk's in a lab look almost identical. When the Assimilator
program is run on a lab Macintosh it will mount an AppleShare file server
and then make the harddisk look more or less exactly like a pre-specified
source folder on the server. It does this by throwing away (into the
Trash) any files or folders that don't belong or are different and
downloading any missing files. Icon positions, folder views, finder flags
and so forth are all corrected on the client Macintosh to match the source
folder.
Although it is designed for student lab situations, it has also proven
useful in other circumstances, such as for setting up newly purchased Macs
or in testing or demo labs.
New in version 2.0.1:
* Single log file on the system disk.
* Fixed problems with Alias resolution.
* Fixed the balloon help.
* Fixed import database to work with 1.x databases.
* Changed memory allocation in Assimilator.
* Various other minor changes and bug fixes.
New in version 2.0:
* Powerful new customization features.
* Handle multiple partitions.
* Restrict to portions of volumes.
* Support AppleShareIP over TCP/IP.
* Support assimilation from CD and local volumes.
* Execute protected scripts and applications.
* Fixed several bugs.
Assimilator requires System 7 and a harddisk.
Assimilator is shareware, $10 per Mac or $500 for a site license. Version
2.0 is a free upgrade if you registered on or after 1 Jan 1998, otherwise
the upgrade fee is 50%.0

Desc: Unlike other tools in this category, this program raytraces through a
three-dimensional cloud density that represents the wavefunction's
probability density and presents its results in real-time (up to 48 frames
per second on the latest hardware). The user interface is very interactive
and provides a wide degree of flexibility.
It contains all 140 eigenstates up to the n=7 energy level and the allowed
spectral transitions between those eigenstates. It also allows a state
formed by a superposition of up to eight of those eigenstates allowing for
over 3 trillion possible states. The program can display a wavefunction as a
picture of a cloud, use color as phase, plot in red-cyan left/right for 3D
glasses, and slice the wavefunction.
You can download a copy of it and see demonstrations of its output at:
For individual users, this software is US $20 shareware. Once you register,

This is version 2.0 of the Austrian Keyboard Patch. It corrects a problem
in the German version of Mac OS 8.5, 8.5.1 and 8.6 where pressing the
Apostrophe key (') would produce an accent circonflexe [^] instead. With
the patch installed, the correct symbol is produced.
Version 2.0 adds compatibility with Mac OS 8.6 and makes better checks to
ensure that the correct system file is being patched.

Do you run a web/file/database server or any other kind of Macintosh
server ? Do you use a remote access package (Timbuktu, ARA, ...) or
do you use your Mac for receiving faxes ? Do you depend on your Mac
being up and running all the time ? Unfortunately, Macintosh
software is not always as reliable as we'd like it to be. Crashes and
system freezes can frustrate you at best or make you lose a lot of
business at worst.
Have a look at AutoBoot. AutoBoot is a Control Panel that restarts
your Macintosh when it crashes or freezes, ensuring that your server
is always up and running. Many AutoBoot users can testify: AutoBoot
is a real lifesaver. No Mac server should be without it !
Version 1.6.5 changes:
-fixes a conflict between AutoBoot and MacOS File Sharing
-includes many documentation changes.

Subject: Background Calendar v1.0
Everyone needs a calendar. Not everyone needs a scheduling program.
Background Calendar is a low-impact, easy-to-use solution for most needs.
It has a lot of options, but once you like the way it looks, you don't have
to fiddle with it any more.
A lot of your computer experience is based on real artifacts. A word
processor's measurement bar looks like a typewriter's margin slider. A
database program may have a display like a Rolodex. To discard a document,
we put it in the trash. This technique frees us from having to learn
different ways of doing things when we're using a computer; it's good sound
cognitive psychology.
It's hard to beat a paper calendar for ease of use. All you have to do is
hang it up where you'll see it when you need it, and remember to flip the
page every month. You can write on it and check it easily to see what
events you have coming up in the next two days, this day next week--
whatever. By comparison, scheduling programs require learning, have little
to do with the way we use these existing artifacts, and must be specially
launched-- they aren't always available. It is with this in mind that I
wrote Background Calendar.
The Desktop Picture is available at all times. Sure, it may be blocked by
windows, but there are easy ways to get rid of them momentarily. So,
Background Calendar is like a paper calendar: it's always available. If you
have more than one screen, it's particularly handy to set it up on one of
them which is left relatively uncluttered.
Writing on it? Easy. We have another real-world artifact called the
"Post-It Note." On the Macintosh, they exist as "Stickies." So: Why not
use them as little "reminders" on a "calendar?"
When run, Background Calendar will generate a calendar for the current
month, with whatever options you have selected-- such as outlining the
current date, applying colors, leaving margins, drawing on top of an
existing desktop picture, and so forth-- and then sets the desktop picture
of your preferred monitor to the result. You'll always have a current
calendar at your fingertips!

Black & Bleu is an application that shows you the meaning of all of the documented and many of the undocumented Mac OS error codes. Many codes include information about what might be the cause of the error and what you can do about it.
The database contains over 2500 error codes with Apple's short explanations of each. Our detailed explanations and remedies are included for the most common of these errors. The type of detailed information can be selected from 2 categories: a Non-technical User orientation and a Programmer orientation. The Non-technical User explanation is presented in a way that someone without a programming background can understand. The Programmer explanation is written in VERY technical terms that usually includes source code that demonstrates the error. To fully understand the Programmer explanation, you should be familiar with Macintosh programming (in C or C++).
Black & Bleu is also available from our web site: www.bleurose.com as a free fully functioning demo. This demo can be launched for a total of 3 times before it expires.

tried simply don't work correctly.
Generic Amazon plug-ins only search for books, not music, so I created a
separate music search. Shortly after creating this plug-in, another amazon
music plug-in turned up at a popular web site. In testing, I found that the
other book and music plug-ins did not return the full list of hits. In one
instance, a music search only returned two items where my music plug-in
returned over twenty! In addition, the other plug-ins included a separate
search for classical music which didn't work at all because it was
searching the books database. My single music plug-in correctly searches
both the popular and classical music databases.

Kaleidoscope without Appearance Manager, and on machines with
32-bit dirty ROMs (such as the SE/30.)
- Clocks are now drawn correctly on 1-bit (black & white) displays.
- The Appearance Manager is no longer required to set the clock size.
- Added the ability to adjust the rate at which the clock is
repositioned.
- Added a "white background" option for active-matrix LCDs.
- Added new iMac "flavors" to the Apple Logo style.

Subject: BookCovers v1.1.2 (formerly BookMarks v1.0)
This is an update of the program BookMarks v1.0. Mostly the name has
been changed to satisfy Kagi, as there are many programs with the name
BookMarks, so now we have BookCovers v.1.1.3 with new documentation and
graphics and some minor fixes.
BookCovers is a simple book database program, for storing references to
all the books you read. If you have ever got to the point where you
can't remember the name of a book that you read a while back, or maybe
you're at the used book store and you see some good prices on your
favorite authors books, but... hmm...maybe I've already read Tom
Clancy's oldest save the world book. Or did I just see the movie.
(aren't they all made into movies?) Which was it?
Well this program is designed with you in mind. (actually I wrote it for
myself originally) BookCovers will allow you to catalog all your book
reading, past and present. Entering as much info or as little info as
you want. (You must however at least have a title to the book) You can
save the Title of the book, the Authors name, the Type of book it is,
comments of yours about the book, the date you read it or finished
reading it and it also has a place to enter the books ISBN number, if
you like.
BookCovers also has a simple printing facility, allowing you to print
out your listing of books, for those of you who can't have enough paper
to read.
BookCovers comes with its own installer and will automatically install
the program, the Read Me file as well as a Docs file and the Register
Application, onto your hard disk. Before registering BookCovers, you
will be limited to entering only 10 books. The PPC version of BookCovers
requires a PowerPC computer running version 7.6.1 or greater of Mac OS.
A 68k version is in the works and will be offered at a later date.
BookCovers is offered as shareware. You may register BookCovers via the
included Register Application from Kagi. A Single User License costs $10
per user.
To contact the author, that would be myself, Ken Ferris. I can be

BookCovers also has a simple printing facility, allowing you to
print out your listing of books, for those of you who can't have enough
paper to read. (myself, just the act of entering the info is sometimes
enough to get my brain cells to remember)
New Features

list may be
alphabetized by clicking the headings, like the finder does
windows. Double
clicking an entry in list will take you to that record in Browse

selection in prefs window.
Added menu selections for selecting different view tabs.
Changed search by Author, now will search both first and last name
fields.

Subject: Bookends Plus 4.1 Demo
Bookends Plus is the leading reference management/bibliography generation
application created exclusively for the Macintosh. As a Mac-first and
Mac-only product, Bookends has long been a leader in adopting MacOS
technologies, including AppleEvents, QuickTime, and Apple Guide on-line
help. Bookends is also the only Macintosh product of its kind that can
serve its contents on the Web in real-time, allowing multiple users to
share, and even add or edit, information with users around the world on any
platform.
The latest version of Bookends is even more tightly integrated with the Web
than its predecessors, and will take advantage of the latest in Apple's
QuickTime technology to expand the boundaries of reference management. The
ability of Bookends to display any QuickTime-compatible graphic and to open
any document for viewing or editing in the application that created it
makes it a powerful tool for virtually any kind of information management.
Among the recent improvements to Bookends Plus are:
* Bookmark web sites in Bookends and go to them directly from a Bookends
database.
* Import references directly from the clipboard (makes importing references
from the web a snap).
* The ability to format a footnote differently depending on whether it is
being cited for the first time or after an initial citation. This is
particularly useful for footnotes or bibliographies using styles for the
humanities.
* Expanded graphics support. You can view any type of document supported by
QuickTime 3 (available at no cost from Apple Computer). In conjunction with
the Attach feature, this means that you can examine virtually any kind of
graphic (diagram, picture, plasmid map, chemical structure, even video)
from within Bookends.
* Web users can edit references in a Bookends database via the web (with a
password protection option).
This is a free evaluation copy of Bookends Plus which can also be
downloaded from the Sonny Software web site (www.sonnysoftware.com). All
features are enabled in the evaluation copy except that databases are
limited to a maximum of 15 references. Once purchased, Sonny Software will
supply a registration number that will "unlock" the evaluation version and
remove this restriction.
This new release of Bookends Plus supersedes all other versions of Bookends.
Visit our web site to learn more about Bookends and download an evaluation
copy and complete electronic manual.

budgetBoss(TM) 1.1

Requires: HyperCard(R) Player 2.3 or higher (probably already on your Mac
whether you know it or not), or any version of Hyper-Stack Player; a Mac
having a 68030 processor or faster is preferred
Changes in this version: Eliminated a bug which would prevent registered
users from importing more than ten Expense Records.
Take charge of your finances with budgetBoss!
BudgetBoss gives users the information they need to plan ahead for those
pay periods where bills seem to be all due at once. BudgetBoss takes
information about your pay schedule and your expenses, and generates a list
of your expenses for the whole year, grouped and totaled by pay period. In
this way, users are warned well in advance of those instances where lots of
bills are due in a short amount of time. The list also lets you see in
advance those rare pay periods where less bills than usual are due.
If you find that some bills are grouped too closely to payday to allow you
to pay them by mail on time, budgetBoss' "Mailing Delay" feature can
eliminate that problem. You set the Mailing Delay to the number of days you
need to comfortably pay by mail. This adjusts the grouping of expenses so
that those that are due too close to payday are grouped for payment with
the previous pay period.
The power of BudgetBoss is that it allows you to save the list that it
generates in a form that is specially formatted to be opened as a "live"
spreadsheet by a spreadsheet program. The spreadsheet uses a formula to add
up your expenses for each pay period, so you can insert last-minute
expenses and the total will instantly update. Alternatively, you may save
the list of expenses as a text file which can be opened and printed by any
word processing program.

BusStop is a clock. But its way of displaying a time is unusual. Let's
suppose that you are watching a busstop from an opposite side of a

five minutes. You can see a route number, persons, sparrows and a bench.
The route number indicates an hour. A person comes every one minute. A
sparrow appears every five minutes. A bench has an ad on its back. It
changes everyday. You can set your strings for it. Enjoy!

Subject: Advanced i/o & arithmetic compression
Attached is an updated version of c++advio, an advanced i/o &
arithmetic compression classlib, Mac distribution.
The new version is more portable: besides a Mac, the source code
compiles and correctly runs on various UNIX boxes (Sun/Solaris, HP
9000/7xx, FreeBSD, DEC Alpha), and even Win95/WinNT. The
package pulls off a few tricks (like accessing a single file buffer
from several (byte/bit/compression) streams, or substituting a base
class in a compiled hierarchy). Yet the package compiles and correctly
works with both GNU (libg++) and a template-based Modena C++ stream
libraries (in CodeWarrior's Metrowerks Standard Library, MSL C++). For
the first time, this release of c++advio includes a Vocabulary
package, (poly/homo)morphic dictionaries with a dynamic "inheritance"
path. The new version also adds a few utility C++ functions, and code
to validate them.
c++advio: Various advanced i/o codings of streams of integers
Keywords: arithmetic coding, start-stop coding, endian i/o,
compression, fall-back
Hot points:
- variable-bit coding of sequences of integers
(including the Arithmetic compression)
- explicit endian specification in dealing with integer streams
- a trick of sharing a stream buffer (a "file") among several streams
- with a validation code to verify everything
- simple database service (vocabulary) featuring polymorphism,
late binding, and dynamic inheritance
- with a commented source and CW11 projects
Please see a README file for more details.
Contents:
README - tells what this is all about and how to use it
c++serv.dr - tells what the other files are for
libserv.a - compiled PowerMac library
libserv.pi - project to make it
*.h, *.cc - source code
v*.cc - verification code (test cases)
test suite.stat - stationary for validation projects
Run Validation Tests - AppleScript applet to run them
ANSI #includes addenda - portability extensions (for non-gcc compilers)
Language: C++, CodeWarrior11
System: System 7.x (7.5.5) but probably 6.x is OK, too.

Every time you open the Dates application, Calendar Marker swiftly checks
for any and all day notes and meetings in the current month. It also does
this check when you change or make a new appointment, or select a new day
to view. It then draws a box around any day with a day note, and places a
small line to the left of any day with a meeting. A line is drawn near the
top of a day with one or more morning meetings, while a line is drawn near
the bottom for one or more afternoon meetings.
Calendar Marker displays week numbers to the left of the month. It counts
the first week in a year with more than 3 days as week 1. If the first week
in a year has 3 or fewer days in it, it is numbered the same a the last
week of the previous year. If the last week in a year has fewer than 4 days
in it, it is numbered 1. Those are the rules.

Users can write a small note for each day of each month.
Clicking on a day in the calendar highlights it blue and displays the

Subject: CapsOff 1.1
CapsOff is a System Extension and Control Panel that disables the Capslock
key on PowerPC based Macintosh computers.
Without CapsOff installed there can be annoying problems when the capslock
key is hit by accident. You might type a whole stream of characters in
capital letters. Or your password keeps getting refused because you are
typing in upper case instead of mixed case.
With CapsOff installed hitting the CapsLock key will no longer be a
problem. You can configure it to play a simple beep when the key is hit and
then block the normal action of the CapsLock so that you still get
lowercase letters instead of CAPITALS. At anytime you can enable and
disable CapsOff by using a hotkey combination of your choosing. In addition
you can have CapsOff show an icon in the menubar when the CapsLock key is
down. This acts as a reminder and is especially helpfull if you don't have
a capslock light on your keyboard.
Enjoy!

Questions/Comments: [email protected]
What is Cast Off?
Cast Off is a new preference folder cleansing utility. All those old and
junky preferences; Cast Off will remove them. How about all those
preferences from all that shareware you download, zap them with Cast Off.
Make that mess of sometimes thousands of items into a few hundred in minutes
with Cast Off.
Why is Cast Off better then others like it?
Cast Off has been proven to be, smarter, smaller, faster and even easier to
use then others like it. Cast Off has a intelligent engine built in that
will identify files like nothing else on the market. To make your life even
easier Cast Off includes file and folder exclusions. Also, it can be set to
ignore everything except true preference files or Apple preference files.
For administrative work it allows the creation of log files for every scan.
What do the others have that Cast Off doesn't, nothing!
How much is it?
Cast Off also fits your budget. With the low price of just $10.00 it knocks
those other preference folder cleansers out of the ballpark! Order online
with the convience of the Kagi credit card processing service. Is Cast Off
easy or what.
Why should I care about my preference folder?
You dont have to care. You can let it grow till it has 7,000 items worth
over 100 megabytes. Why not keep it clean. Now with Cast Off it isnt hard
at all. Imagine all those files from those shareware applications you
launched and then threw away. Imagine how messy your preference folder could
be. If you keep other areas of your computer clutter free, why skip your
preference folder?
How does Cast Off determine what is orphaned?
Cast Off uses two methods to determine what orphaned. First it looks in
your desktop database (were a reference to all applications are stored), if
it doesnt find anything then it moves on to the second step. During the
second step it scans your entire hard drive(s) looking for a matching file.
If any matching files/applications are found then Cast Off determines that
it isnt orphaned. If the preference fails both tests then it is considered
orphaned.
What are file or folder exclusions?
A file or folder exclusion is a file or folder that is ignored by Cast Off.
So if you want Cast Off to skip over a folder or preference you can set it
to in the settings dialog. Cast Off comes with a high level of customization
like no other preference cleanser like it.

Subject: Catalog Search FM 3.8, FM Pro 4-5 DB to catalog disks and folders
This FileMaker 4 (easily converted to FileMaker 5) database provides
drag and drop indexing of disks and folders. It gathers information
about each file, such as path, name, size, dates, type, creator etc.,
during indexing. Plus, it has the speed and power of a relational db.
Duplicate files can be determined almost instantly based on three
separate criteria (name, size and modification date).
The database is freeware, and has no locked layouts or password
protection. Modify it as you see fit. Needs Jon's Commands free
OSAX - see read me.
Version 3.8 fixes an error handling bug that was partly fixed (and
partly broken) in version 3.7.
A version that's compatible with the date settings of most European
systems is available by email request, or available soon on my web
site at: http://www.musselrock.com/fm_waldos.html

Subject: CatalogSearch FMP, a folder and volume indexer
CatalogSearch FMP is a FileMaker Pro 5 database for rapidly indexing folders
and volumes. It catalogs every file and folder (including invisibles, but not icon
files) of a given container. It uses a relationship to very quickly locate files
that are duplicates (duplicate files are only duplicates if their name, size and
modification dates are exactly the same). It can reveal, open, move and delete
files and folders that it has indexed. It can use Sherlock to find items by name
from it's Name field (right now, only "name is, on local volumes - but not CDs"
searches can be performed). Requires OS 8.5+.

Subject: CCalendar Converter 1.1
CCalendar Converter is a utility for conversion between often used
calendars. In this version (1.10), it supports the conversion between
Gregorian, Julian, Sinic (a.k.a. Chinese, as PRC insists), ISO, Islamic,
and Hebrew calendars. Many festivals are also supported so that you can
easily find when is Easter, Orthodox Easter, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah,
and Ramaden. You can also find the sunrise/sunset time and the moon
phase in the city where you live.
V1.1 added a calendar window so that you can have an overview of the
whole month. The holidays in the month are shown in a different color.
By placing the cursor on the calendar cell, the holiday information will
be shown in a balloon. You can also edit holiday file(s) to place
holidays in your country and other important dates of your own.
V1.1 also added the ephemeris of the sun, the moon, and the nine
planets. You can easily find in which zodiac sign is Venus.
Cheers,
PS. I sent the same file to [email protected] more than a week ago
(and sent an older version of it SEVERAL weeks ago) but didn't receive
anything from the archivist and didn't see the file appears on the
info-mac digest. So I uploaded it again to your ftp site.

If you have two or more Macintoshes, you probably notice that the clocks
drift apart as time goes by. This can range from being a minor nuisance to
a problem, especially if you do a lot of synchronizing between the
Macintoshes. ClockSync II synchronizes the clocks between two or more
Macintoshes, by setting the clocks of the "Servant"Macintoshes to that of a
"Master" Macintosh.
ClockSync has two components. The ClockSync Master runs continuously on
the "Master" Macintosh, while the ClockSync Servant can be run on any other
Macintosh on the network to update its time.
All of my utilities can be registered through the Kagi shareware system.
Version 1.4.0 has the following enhancements:
- Master: Added log window.
- Master: Added network timeout setting.
- Master: Added ability to hide main window for a faceless application.

This version brings several user suggested enhancements to its already
powerful church management capabilities. Some of these enhancements
include:
A new password protected "Youth" relational database that allows users to
track such information as youth involvement, home and work numbers, school
name, grade, emergency contact and phone, relate siblings to one another
and quickly move between related records and databases.
A new "Children" relational database that allows users to track attendance
at Sunday School, store school and grade information, birthdays, print
letters to the child or parents, send postcards and relate siblings to one
another and quickly move between related records and databases.
A new password protected "Pastor's" relational database enabling the pastor
to keep confidential records apart from the CMK main file.
An "Attendance-At-A-Glance" layout and report which allows users to view,
mark, and print a continuous report of any number of members.
There is now password protection of all financial layouts and related
databases.
The ability to relate records through a "Family ID#" and view and jump to
related records and files from the Detail View layout.
The ability to print either formal or informal form letters.
Automatic computation of dates based on the first date entered.
Auto-formatting of telephone related fields.
A registration file that allows the user to simply purchase Church
Membership Keeper through Kagi Shareware.
Church Membership Keeper has been well received by the on-line Church
community. Users like its flexibility. After paying the $25 shareware fee
users receive the password which allows them to customize CMK for their

* Find Birthdays for a given month and output them to a text file.
* Find Anniversaries for a given month and output them to a text file.

o Enabled the Paste menu item when appropriate.
o Made sure that the selected item in the list box always stays in sync

o Closed the list box window on the first idle event after the layout
window is moved.
o Used the black & white PICT resource for the popup-indicator button
on display devices having four (4) or fewer colors.
o Eliminated the last vestiges of the dead scroll bar problem.
o Allowed string arrays to be used for CB_FillLst() rather than requiring
all arrays to be of type text.
o Added CB_GetContRef() function to make ComboBox compatible with
Foresight Technology's "Container" and Automated Solutions Group's
"Habitat."
o Added DrawBox flag to CB_DefSetFlags() and CB_SetFlags().
o Made the list window show up in the right place (above vs. below the

o Started using the real arrow cursor.
o Corrected a bug in which a compiled database would execute the

unmodified both times.
o Fixed a bug where the text-entry area did not reflect the new size
after the font was changed.

Subject: Computer Cuisine 6.0 Recipe Database For FileMaker Pro
Inaka Software Announces Computer Cuisine -- the complete recipe template
for FileMaker Pro.
Computer Cuisine is by far the most efficient and simple way to manage
your home recipe database. It's features include a well designed layout
that makes adding, viewing, sorting, finding and printing a snap. In
addition to the simple, yet highly graphical layout, Computer Cuisine
allows you to add an infinite number of your own recipes to the existing
database. And because Computer Cuisine uses FileMaker Pro as it's
database engine, Computer Cuisine is fully cross platform compatible for
both Macintosh and Windows users.
Version 6.0 Includes:
* Over 1,000 recipes already entered for your convenience!
* Added commands which take advantage of FileMaker Pro 4.xs email/web
features!
* Enhanced graphical layout with simple to use menus and icons!
* Expanded conversion menu for easy calculations to and from U.S.
Standard and Metric!
* List your recipes by item, category, type, or servings! You can choose!
* A print menu which gives users the option of printing in color or b&w,
and in a small or large format! (The small format folds to fit perfectly
onto a 3x5" recipe card).
* Expanded sorting functions! The ability to sort huge recipe lists with
one simple click!
* Fully compatible for both Macintosh and Windows users!
MENUS:
Buttons are located at the top of the layout for added convenience. For
example, just one of the buttons can sort all of your recipes with the
click of your mouse! In the main menu, Computer Cuisine will
alphabetically sort all of your recipes and give you a listing of your
recipes from A-Z. This works much like the index in any cookbook you own,
however, this index is updated every time you add or remove a recipe!
Yet, that is just one of many functions Computer Cuisine has to offer!
And with the extensive search capabilities already built into the
program, you will now be able to search through all of the entered
recipes with the touch of a button! You don't even have to know the exact
name of the recipe, or ingredient.
PRINTING:
Computer Cuisine also makes printing your recipes a snap. The Print Menu
icon placed at the top of the layout, allows you to choose the size and
color of your recipes in one stroke. Computer Cuisine has five printing
options to choose from. The standard, or large size recipe will use the
full paper size of (8 1/2 "x 11") for printing, to ensure an adequate
amount of printing space. The small recipe size will print recipes that
once trimmed and folded lengthwise, can fit perfectly on a (3"x5") index
card! Last, is the Deluxe Print option. This will print a recipe with a
similar look and feel much like the on-screen version.
PRICE: Just $10 US. (Shareware)
Computer Cuisine rivals any commercial recipe program on the market for
both Macintosh and Windows users. The easy to use menus and well designed
layout make it the obvious chose for anyone who wishes to store their
recipes in a database. At only a fraction of the cost of most recipe
programs, Computer Cuisine can do it all.

Short Description: Creates A.F.M. standard contracts for musicians
Long Description: Contract Creator creates standard contracts used by the
American Federation of Musicians (A.F. of M.). This program duplicates the
standard forms used by the AFM and makes contract preparation a quick,
painless process. All musician, producer, studio, and record company data is
stored in a database for use on successive contracts, making the prep time
almost nil. A simple 5-step process is used, which walks the user through
preparation and checks for common errors. All Union wage scales are computed
automatically, and are easily updated as scales are changed each year. This
application was written by Longterm Solutions, a well-established publisher
of music industry software. This fully-functioning demo displays a demo
message on all contracts until the shareware fee is paid.

CornerClock is a desktop utility which provides the option of displaying a chiming clock in the top left corner of the screen. You can have the time or the date displayed by default (the other will display upon placing the cursor over the corner). You can also turn off the display and just use the chime functionality.
CornerClock includes some chimes of it's own, and also loads the system sounds for optional chimes. You can add or change chimes to CornerClock by using ResEdit. Edit the "snd" resource. Chime sounds run from ID 140 through 199 (must be successive... when CornerClock detects an unused slot, it stops loading sounds). These chimes can be played at the hour, or 15, 30, and 45 minutes after the hour (with the option of playing different chimes at different time slots).
CornerClock also supports a quiet tick sound to be played each minute. To edit these sounds, use ResEdit, and update the "snd" resource IDs from 200 on.
Other options include: DD/MM or MM/DD date format, 12-hour or 24-hour clock, Black-on-White or Yellow-on-Black display, and the choice of chiming once or chiming the number of hours on the hour.

Count WWWebula Plugin 1.5
Count WWWebula is a code fragment plugin for use with MacOS web servers that
support WSAPI plugins. Right now, that means either WebStar, Quid Pro Quo,
AppleShare IP, WebTEN, or Microsoft's Personal Web Server. A CGI version is
also available. (READ: THIS IS *NOT* FOR UNIX MACHINES, NOR WILL IT RUN ON
ANY UNIX INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS' WEB SERVERS)
Count WWWebula is a graphical access counter. It will display the number of
"hits" your web page has received in the form of a gif image.
Count WWWebula was created using Metrowerks C++ with Grant's CGI Framework.
Count WWWebula is shareware. For the plugin version, everyone must send me
$30 dollars c/o Kagi Software per server running the counter. For the CGI
version, it's $25, but individuals, educational institutions, and non-profit
organizations get a break and don't have to pay. For more payment
information please see the license agreement, the included Register
application, and the web site.
Please read the following for important changes in functionality!!!
------------------------
Changes in 1.5:
* Disk access should be greatly reduced. As a result, general speed of the
counter is faster.
* In all circumstances, an error log will be generated and put into the
Counter Data Files folder. In addition, it will no longer log startup
messages. It will only write out information during an error condition.
* Several situations where crashes can occur have been eliminated. Some
exceptions were being thrown and not caught in some cases.
* Previously, during a database flush from the counter, the server would
hang for several seconds depending on the number of .dat files in your
Counter Data Files folder. This issue has been dealt with on several
levels.
* [PLUGIN ONLY] A problem was fixed in which using the remote
administrator utility with more than a handful of referral and ignore items
in the preference lists would cause the server to crash.
* The counter will now cache the images in the "digitdir" folder. If your
counters use this font, they will see a large increase in speed, since the
server won't have to load the images out of this directory every time it's
accessed. Other custom fonts will still be loaded real-time, so users of
these fonts won't see such an increase in speed.
* The server now only updates the .dat files that need to be updated
periodically. Previously, every two minutes, the server would rewrite all
the .dat files if any counter was accessed. Now only the .dat file that is
accessed will be rewritten. This will make for greatly reduced lag times on
large servers with many .dat files.
* There seems to be a problem when running the counter plugin under Quid
Pro Quo (and Plus). A memory leak is causing some machines to crash under
heavy load. After doing some testing, it appears that the fault is on QPQ.
WebStar, WebTen, and others don't seem to show this problem.

Subject: CP290 Director X 1.3 - Controls X10 CP290 Controller, with sunrise, sunset, even/odd days, improved reliability
CP290 Director X is Macintosh software that controls the original X10
home automation computer controlled interface, model number CP290. It
completely replaces the Macintosh software that comes with the CP290,
and has unique features not found in other Macintosh-based CP290
controllers.
In addition to standard CP290 features, CP290 Director X supports the
following types of events stored in the CP290: sunrise and sunset
events, events with specific dates and repeat intervals, and even and
odd day events.
X10 systems usually work reasonably reliably, turning on or off the
selected module when the CP290 commands it. However, occasionally noise
or interference in your wiring can cut reliability whereby a module is
not turned on or off at the requested time. The best solution to this
problem, if acute, is to install noise filters, signal bridges, or
amplifiers. However, you may find that CP290 Director X solves the
problem for you. CP290 Director X allows you to optionally specify that
each "on" event should be sent more than once to the module, and/or
that each "off" event should be sent more than once. Thus, if the first
command to turn off doesn't work, the second or third one might. If you
specify that an event should be sent more than once, it will be sent
the specified number of times (two to four) at one minute intervals.
System requirements:
MacOS 10.1.5 or higher.

home automation computer controlled interface, model number CP290. It
completely replaces the Macintosh software that comes with the CP290,
and has unique features not found in other Macintosh-based CP290
controllers such as MouseHouse and Xtension.
CP290 Director does not have to be running at all times to control
the CP290, since it takes advantage of the CP290'S ability to store
events for later execution. In addition to the standard CP290
features, CP290 Director supports the following additional features:
1) the ability to specify that an event is to occur at sunrise or
sunset (plus or minus a specified time interval); 2) the ability to
specify a specific date on which an event is to occur, and optionally
the interval in days thereafter that the event should be repeated;
and 3) the ability to specify that the event should occur only on
even days or on odd days.
System requirements:
* System 7 through 8.6; not tested with MacOS 9
* Macintosh with at least 4 MB of RAM
Release 1.6 fixes a bug with handling ALL LIGHTS and ALL module
numbers. For more information, please read the documentation
enclosed, or visit the CP290 Director Web page:

CR-Calculator 1.0. A chemical reaction calculator.
CR-Calculator version 1.0 aids in performing the everyday
calculations needed to conduct a chemical reaction and stores
these calculations electronically in retrievable form. The program
accepts both text-based and/or graphical input of reactants and
product. The program uses and maintains a database of commonly
used reagents and maintains a user searchable log file of the
reactions that have been performed.

Creepin' Critter(TM) Clocks 1.1.1
Requires HyperCard Player 2.2 or later (probably already on your Mac
whether you know it or not), or any version of Hyper-Stack Player.
Changes in this version: For Mac OS 9 users running CCC in the black &
white "evaluation mode", a button will appear on the title screen which
allows them to turn off the transition effects that CCC displays as the
user navigates from screen-to-screen. In some models of Mac running OS 9,
these transition effects occur EXTREMELY slowly. The button, which toggles
between "Turn Transitions On" and "Turn Transitions Off", allows those OS 9
users who experience the problem to use CCC without having to deal with
ultra-slow navigation. OS 9 does not cause any problems in CCC's full color
"licensed mode."
Welcome to Creepin' Critter Clocks, the fun way for kids to practice their
time-telling skills! Creepin' Critter Clocks is an arcade-style learning
game that is both challenging and fun. Kids swat bugs (the "Creepin'
Critters") or pop bubbles that correspond to the correct answer to a
time-telling problem.
Points are earned, in true arcade game fashion, for correct answers. The
amount of time available to answer a problem can be adjusted to suit the
skill level of the child. The arcade-style scoring provides an incentive
for decreasing the amount of time, since lower time settings increase the
possible scores.
There are four types of time-telling practice in Creepin' Critter Clocks:
1) Analog-to-Digital, 2) Digital-to-Analog, 3) Words-to-Analog, and 4)
Words-to-Digital.
Each type of time-telling practice can be performed by swatting bugs or by
popping bubbles. The Analog-to-Digital and Words-to-Digital games are only
available to registered users.
Upon registering, you will receive a password which will unlock the
following additional features: 1) built-in color; 2) the ability to repeat
just the incorrectly answered problems; 3) arcade-style "Top Ten" lists for
each type of time-telling game; 4) Teaching Mode where the hour can be held
constant while the minutes are varied (or vice versa); and 5) the Report
feature which records the results of each problem the student attempts in a
text file for later review by their parent or teacher.

Requires HyperCard Player 2.2 or later (probably already on your Mac
whether you know it or not), or any version of Hyper-Stack Player.
Changes in this version: "under-the-hood" improvements to make bug swatting
and bubble popping go more smoothly. Eliminated the double-swatting that
sometimes occurred from a single mouseclick. After clicking the mouse, the
student no longer has to hold the cursor over the bug or bubble until the
sound is heard in order to squish the bug or pop the bubble. Change made to
the company which handles registrations.
