1 lb Fat-trimmed lean beef stew
meat in 1/2-inch cubes
1 6-oz tomato paste
2 Onions, finely chopped
2 Bell peppers, seeded and
diced
1 up to
2 Cloves garlic, minced
3 up to
4 t Chili powder, or combine 1
minced small hot pepper
teaspoons cumin seed or 1
teaspoon ground cumin
and
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 t Plain cocoa powder, optional

crockery cooker.  Stir in other  ingredients (add no water or other
liquid).  Turn cooker to low heat;  cover and cook for 12 hours.  Skim,
and discard any fat from the  surface. Makes 4 servings, 240 calories
