But I have to say that I heard, but I didn’t understand, for they were far above, out of my reach. They spoke about a new birth, the work of God in their hearts... They said how God had visited their souls with His love in the Lord Jesus, and with what words and promises they had been refreshed, comforted and supported against the temptations of the devil... And it seemed to me they spoke as if joy did make them speak. They spoke with such pleasantness of biblical language, and with such obvious grace in all they said, that they were to me as if they had found a new world.

Acknowledged: 4 gospels, 13 Pauline epistles, 1 Peter, 1 John, Acts, Revelation. b. Disputed: 2 Peter, 2, 3 John, Hebrews, James and Jude; also Epistle of Barnabas, Shepherd of Hermas, Didache. c. Heretical: Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Peter, etc. 9. Eusebius (260-340). a. Acknowledged: 4 gospels, 14 Pauline epistles (Hebrews included), I Peter, I John, Acts. b. Disputed: James, Jude, 2 Peter, 2, 3 John, Revelation. Spurious: Shepherd of Hermas, Epistle of Barnabas, Didache, Acts of Paul. c. Heretical: Gospel of Thomas, Peter, Acts of Andrew etc. 10. Codex Sinaiticus (4th century). 27 books plus Epistle of Barnabas and Shepherd of Hermas. 11. Council of Laodicea (363) - 26 books. Revelation omitted. 12. Athanasius (367) - first time list includes the 27 books of present N.T. 13. Jerome's Vulgate included 27 books of N.T. 14. Augustine (397), 3rd Council of Carthage, accepted 27 books of N.T.

Garlic and Lemon Chicken Thighs

INGREDIENTS

4		Cloves garlic; chopped
1/4	c	Plus 2 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
1	tb	Plus 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
8		Skinless chicken thighs
2		Lemons; cut into wedges

INSTRUCTIONS

Prep: 5 min, Marinate: 15 min, Cook: 30 min.
Preheat oven to 425&deg;F. Pur.e first 3 ingredients and salt to taste in a
blender or food processor. Put chicken in a plastic bag or covered
container. Pour lemon mixture over. Seal and marinate 15 minutes. Transfer
chicken to a broiler pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Discard
marinade. Roast chicken 25-35 minutes until just cooked throughout. Serve
with lemon wedges.
