We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The more you know Him, the better you know Him, the more confident you become, the more secure your joy is… Joy is related to your knowledge of God: little knowledge, little joy; much knowledge, much joy. The more you know of God's glorious truth, of God's great covenants and promises, of God's plans, of God's faithfulness, of God's power, the more joy you experience in life… Our joy is connected to the goodness of the Lord. And the more you understand His grace and mercy and goodness, the more stable your joy becomes, no matter what circumstances may come.
John MacArthur

If we are to grab the next generation with the gospel, we must grab them with passion. And to grab them with passion, we must be gripped with it ourselves. The world needs to see Christians burning, not with self-righteous fury at the sliding morals in our country, but with passion for God. As W.E. Sangster put it, “I’m not interested to know if you could set the Thames on fire. What I want to know is this: if I picked you up by the scruff of your neck and dropped you into the Thames, would it sizzle?”

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Irish Beer, Brewing 54 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 cn Geordie Extra Strong ale
1 c Dark brown sugar
2 c Corn sugar
1/2 lb Crystal malt
1/2 c Maltodextrin
1/2 ts Irish moss
1 oz Willamette leaf hops

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring grain to boil in 1 gallon water; remove grain when water starts to
boil. Add another 1/2 gallon of water and bring to boil again. Add ex-
tract and sugars, boil for 15 minutes. Add Irish moss and hops for last 5
minutes of boil. Put it in fermenter with enough water to make 5
gallons. Add ale yeast and wait. The beer is a brown ale with sweetness
from the sugars and crystal malt; not much hop flavor. The maltodextrin
contributes a strange slightly syrupy quality (I think)---I might leave
it out next time. Anyway, I thought it was a nice, drinkable brown ale.
