We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The Spirit does not glorify Himself; He glorifies the Son… This is, to me, one of the most amazing and remarkable things about the biblical doctrine of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit seems to hide Himself and to conceal Himself. He is always, as it were, putting the focus on the Son, and that is why I believe, and I believe profoundly, that the best test of all as to whether we have received the Spirit is to ask ourselves, what do we think of, and what do we know about, the Son. Is the Son real to us? That is the work of the Spirit. He is glorified indirectly; He is always pointing us to the Son.
Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Feelings of sorrow alone aren't necessarily conviction. We can be sorrowful for many reasons, including selfish ones. We can be sorry for the bad consequences of our sin, sorry we were caught, sorry we lost someone's respect. The kind of worldly grief can't begin to address the true offense of sin, and it can't begin to change us [see 2 Cor. 7:8-9]. Only godly grief brings repentance. And only repentance testifies to the surgical effect of God's truth applied to our sinful hearts.

INGREDIENTS

10 sm Red potatoes
1/2 sm Onion; chopped
1 tb Melted Butter – Up To 2 T.
S & p to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Boil small red potatoes well in advance, and slice them when cold, and add
onions if you like. Toss them with melted butter and some salt and pepper.
They are supposed to be done in a pan, but I do them on a sheet pan in a
400 F oven for maximum crispness. Avoid using paprika, as it burns. Take
your time, and turn them once or twice with a spatula, and let them brown
well. They even reheat well.
