We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Christians should be the most diligent people on the planet. Sadly this is often not the case as we are outspent, outthought and outperformed oftentimes by the very opponents of the Gospel. Is there any cause greater than fighting for the eternal salvation of souls? Is there any book more accurate and relevant and thrilling than the inspired Word of God? Is there any power greater than the Holy Spirit? Is there any god who can compare with our God? Then where is the diligence, the dedication, the determination of His people?

I believe that human morality, rather than flagrant sin, is the greatest obstacle to the gospel today. If you ask the average law-abiding person why he expects to go to heaven, the answer will be some form of “because I’ve been good.” The rich young ruler (see Matthew 19:16-20), the prodigal son’s older brother (see Luke 15:28-30), and the Pharisee praying in the temple (see Luke 18:9-12) all had this in common: They were confident of their own goodness. Their attitude is replicated throughout our society. And the more religious a person is, the more difficult it is for that person to realize his or her need for the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Makes 2 cups. This is a delicious hot sauce.
1. Soak the peppers in warm water until very soft. Drain and chop fine.
2. In a heavy saucepan over low heat, heat the oil. Add the peppers and
garlic; cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute until the garlic browns
slightly. Take care not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the bell peppers and soy sauce. Stir several times and bring to a
boil. Simmer for about 30 minutes, until most of the liquid has evaporated
and the peppers are very soft.
4. Remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely. Pour into a
clean jar, cover with plastic wrap and screw on the lid. Turn the jar
upside down and store in the refrigerator. The oil will rise to the surface
and inhibit mold from forming. Discard the sauce at the first sign of mold.
