We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

That which distinguishes man from the animal kingdom is the imago Dei, the image of God. The image of God has traditionally been identified with such things as rationality, self-consciousness, the exercise of dominion, and moral conscience. However, we must be careful in defining the image of God in wholly functional terms. The image of God is as much a state as it is a capacity. The image is not to be conceived as an end in a process whereby an unborn entity progresses into personhood. The image is a given, not a goal to which the fetus moves in its physiological development. No one denies that the fetus develops. But this development is not from non-person to part-person to full-person, but rather from full-person to the consummate expression and experience of all that personhood entails.

What’s my goal for my kids? Is it just to keep them off drugs, get good grades and come out to church with the family? That might make for training a good American, but not necessarily for training a good Christian. I want my children to see their role as a Christian is not only preventing themselves from being stained by the world (here is where many Christian parents stop), but also empowered by the Holy Spirit to be used as an agent to transform the world. It’s helping them to understand, modeling it for them and giving them opportunities to be ambassadors for Christ.

HBWK07A CHUCK OZBURN
Whirl rosemary and fennel seeds in a blender until powdered; stir in and
mix remaining ingredients; store in an airtight container for up to 6
months. Makes about 3/4 cup.
Sprinkle this seasoning on oiled or buttered chicken or turkey before
cooking; sprinkle on any meaty fish before grilling or broiling; add to a
plain bean or vegetable soup.
It's the best combination I've found a lot cheaper than the 'store bought'
kind... Chuck in Pok
