We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

As a parent you have authority because God calls you to be an authority in your child’s life. You have the authority to act on behalf of God. As a father or mother, you do not exercise rule over your jurisdiction, but over God’s. You act at His command. You discharge a duty that He has given. You may not try to shape the lives of your children as pleases you, but as pleases Him.

A holy man used to say when he returned home from a night of table-talk that he would never accept such an invitation again, so remorseful did such nights always leave him; so impossible did he find it for him to hold his peace, and to speak only at the right moment, and only in the right way. [But Christ was such a one.] And much as I would have liked to see how He acted in everything, especially would I have watched Him how he guided, and steered, and changed, and moderated, and sweetened the talk of the table.

    Eggs, Grains 10 Servings

    INGREDIENTS

    Blend:
    1/2 c Unsalted butter — room
    Temp
    1 c Sugar
    Add:
    3 Eggs
    Add:
    1/2 c Jack Daniels
    Blend in remaining:
    1/2 ts Baking powder
    2 c Flour — generous
    1/2 c Nuts, raisins, currants
    Or whatever — (opt.)

    INSTRUCTIONS

    Bake 60-90 minutes (big span I know, I usually take it out at 75 min.) in a
loaf pan.  It will rise up and brown, the top will crack.  The alcohol
evaporates of course, so you're left with this great nutty sweet flavor. I
slice the loaf lengthwise then across to get little servings.  It's rich. I
have used other brands, but I'm told JD is truly best. Not being a
bourbon/whisky drinker, I take someone elses word for it. Enjoy! Posted by
