SPECULAAS MIX
KRUIDNOTEN
Here finally is the recipe for kruidnoten. I went to a friend of ours who
is a miller (yes some people still live in a windmill over here) because
the speculaaskruiden (the most important taste of the kruidnoten) is
something you can buy over here, because it's typical dutch, butI had to
find out what exactly is in the mix. SO first here is the recipe of the
mix, and later you add that to the kruidnoten recipe.
mix the speculaaskruiden (mix) very well.
Mix all kruidnoten ingredients. Make little balls out of it (size of a
marble) Put them on a bakingtray and bake for about 15 minutes (150 degrees
Celsius) they turn out light brown.
black Peter throws those around when he comes somewhere, I remember when I
was a kid, my mother was hiding and pretending she was black peter, so she
knocked on the door and she threw some candy in. She wanted to be quick and
she threw it so hard that my father and me had pain because it al landed on
our heads.
Have a great sinterklaas(december 5th)

“Many favors which God gives us ravel out for want of hemming through our unthankfulness; for though prayer purchases blessings, giving praise keeps the quiet possession of them. #Thomas Fuller”
