When there are few conversions under the ministrations of the church, and souls are perishing around her, unpitied and unhelped; when there is an evident suspension or withdrawal of those spiritual influences that are alone efficient to convince or to comfort; when there is a visible defection from acknowledged principle, or from attained piety, and a lukewarm formality usurping the place of a generous, devoted, living Christianity we say a revival is required.

Affliction and suffering have been appointed by God as instruments He uses to make us more holy, to make us more like Jesus. They remind us that we are weak and we must rely not on ourselves, but on Jesus. They remind us that this world is not our home but that we are only passing through toward our real home in heaven with our Father, our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Comforter, the Holy Spirit.

Lemony Ham and Rice Soup

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Green onions with tops; sliced
1 tb Butter or margarine
2 tb Flour
1 cn Chicken rice soup
1 Soup can water
1/2 c Fully cooked ham; chopped
1 tb Lemon juice
1 ds Grated nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

In 1 1/2 quart casserole, combine green onion and margarine. Microwave in
casserole until tender on High, about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in flour, soup,
water, ham and lemon juice. Microwave, covered for 8 minutes more. Stir
every few minutes. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg. MC formatting and posted

Serving Ideas : Serve with thick slices of French bread.
NOTES : A great use for that leftover turkey carcass. Delicious!!
