Pieces charcoal, smashed into small chunks |

INSTRUCTIONS
Find a small disposable but waterproof container. Add the charcoal and
spread out evenly. Combine the salt, water, and ammonia in a bowl, and pour
over charcoal. Sprinkle a few drops of food coloring over the whole
concoction. Place the container on a shelf low enough for children to see,
and let them watch it grow.
